AGO files charges vs 11 persons in assault, battery and other cases

The AGO, through Chief Prosecutor Kevin A. Lynch filed an information against Hui Chen Chun of San Antonio, charging him with one count of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of assault and battery for threatening and causing bodily injury to Kuan-Yi Chen on Sept. 16, 2008.

Basilio S. Taman of Garapan is facing one count of criminal mischief for causing damage to the property of Carmelita Misa Guai and Ignacia Evangelista on Aug. 7, 2008. The defendant is accused of breaking the window of the victim’s residence.

Facing one count of assault and battery and one count of disturbing the peace are Henry Ilo Iguel, 46, and Perry Magofna Iguel, 28, for beating and attacking Rasao Iguel Martin on Sept. 6, 2008

The AGO has also charged Isni Nepios Bokuku with two separate counts of assault and battery, and two separate counts of disturbing the peace for hitting and slapping the faces of two female victims on Feb. 4, 2007.

You Zhe Piao has been charged with one count of disturbing the peace, one count of criminal trespassing and one count for resisting arrest. Piao was accused of causing disturbance to James Bongkeun Jun and the people at the Smile Poker on June 4, 2008 when he was asked to leave the premises.

He was also accused of resisting arrest when law enforcers tried to arrest him.

Isa P. Dira of Koblerville has been charged with criminal mischief for causing damage to the property of Christopher Matagolai on July 25, 2008. The information stated Dira broke four window screens of the victim.

The AGO also charged 19-year-old Joe J. Sachuo of Upper Miha Housing in Garapan with one count of criminal mischief for breaking the glass window of Magic International’s May Tenth Building on June 13, 2008.

Jeffrey Pilas Mailo of San Vicente has been charged with disturbing the peace and one count of resisting arrest. He was accused of disturbing Peno Pilas Mailo on Oct. 4, 2008.

Franklin Gumataotao Reyes of Tanapag has been charged with disturbing the peace for annoying Mariana Iguel Itegita on June 26, 2008.

All the 11 defendants were ordered to appear in court at 9 a.m. on Jan. 12, 2009 to answer the charges against them.

The court said failure to show up in court at the set date could result to an application of a warrant of arrest.

The defendants are entitled to be represented by a lawyer but if they cannot afford to pay for the services of an attorney, they can avail of a court-appointed counsel at no expense.
