Isidoro T. Cabrera, chairman of the Agriculture Fair, said some $17,000 will be released next week for the annual event that draws the participation of farmers and ranchers from Saipan, Tinian and Rota.
The fair will be held on May 23.
Finance Secretary Eloy Inos assured Cabrera during a meeting earlier this week that the annual event will be funded.
The Agriculture Fair was not held in 2006 and 2007.
The $20,000 appropriated for 2007 was not used until last year’s fair.
Cabrera said they will try to make this year’s fair as lively and successful as possible.
He thanked Gov. Benigno R. Fitial and Finance Secretary Eloy Inos for disbursing the fund and the Legislature for appropriating it.
The fair showcases the potentials of different farming activities in the CNMI.
