Alampayan, 30, drowned in the waters of Micro Beach while spear fishing on Nov. 4.
He was buried in Tanapag on Nov. 12.
Aureo said Alampayan’s funeral was made possible by the community’s help.
Among those that provided assistance were the local Catholic Church, Alampayan’s former employer, Joeten Enterprises, the Philippine Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and Consulate General.
Aureo said his nephew’s friends, co-workers and community members attended the funeral.
Alampayan had two young children in the Philippines.
“The children and all of us are still in the process of moving on,” Aureo said. “What happened to Arman still hurts us but we have to move on.”
He is grateful for the continuous emotional support the family is receiving from their friends on island.
Alampayan was last employed as a farmer by his aunt.
