Public Health Secretary Kevin Villagomez yesterday said that the figures for cancer are not good in the CNMI.
“The rate of cancer in the CNMI continues to go up,” he added.
Public awareness and lifestyle changes, he added, can do a lot to reduce the rate of cancer which is one of the top two leading causes of death in the CNMI and the second leading cause of death in the United States.
“I commend the efforts of the Marianas March Against Cancer and the Commonwealth Cancer Association because they have managed to increase to cancer awareness in the community,” he added.
