She said Guam-based contractors want to create a database regarding skilled workers on Saipan for future employment on Guam in preparation for the military buildup there.
Tantiado said job applicants must bring their updated resumes, employment certifications and other pertinent documents.
“No fee will be collected,” she added.
The job fair is only intended for construction workers.
Guam-based employers are hiring carpenters, plumbers, electricians and structural sheet workers, Tantiado said.
The job fair was originally scheduled for Sept. 13 at American Memorial Park but it was postponed.
About 150 job seekers who were not aware of the cancellation showed up at the park, according to Park Ranger Nancy Kelchner.
Variety learned that the United Workers Movement has already made a reservation to use the amphitheater for the job fair tomorrow that will start at 1 p.m. and end at 5 p.m.
Tantiado said they are accepting job applications from Rota, Tinian, and even from other Pacific islands.
They have been receiving inquiries from off-island job seekers, she added.
