“Every day, libraries across the country and here at home in the NMI open new worlds, helping people create their own unique stories,” said Jose T. Limes, chairman of the CNMI Library Council.
“Whether it is by opening a book and exploring distant lands, or by learning how to use new technology to find a job, or accessing the internet to connect with others locally and abroad, people at our library are creating new stories for themselves,” he added.
Motherread/Fatherread program members, Library Friends and Joeten-Kiyu Public Library officials were also present to witness the event.
First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries across the country every month of April.
