Green flag on Saipan
(DEQ) — The Division of Environmental Quality has analyzed samples collected from Saipan’s east and south recreational beaches and storm water drainages as part of its regularly scheduled sampling.
None of the samples collected contained excessive concentrations of fecal indicator bacteria nor did they exceed the CNMI’s marine water quality standards.
DEQ assigns all of the sampled beach sites a green flag.

LISS — Ladera International School of Saipan celebrated “Hug a Korean Day” last Friday.
LISS, one of the many schools on Saipan with Korean students, recognized the day as a time for setting aside differences and finding unity among each other.
For weeks, faculty and staff reiterated the importance of unity among students at LISS.
“A peaceful world and peaceful living” were emphasized.
“Today marks a special occasion recognizing Koreans in our community,” stated LISS Director Wayne Pangelinan on Friday. “Our children of all ages shared a moment to express their appreciation to Korean nationals here at the school. This is an overwhelming experience to witness as unity is shown despite ethnicity.”
LISS is an international school with students from various ethnic groups.
