Manamko’ movie to be screened in March
(Office on Aging) — About a month ago, Walter Manglona, program coordinator of the Office on Aging, decided to offer his services by producing a movie featuring the islands’ senior citizens.
“We have never done this before and I figured that it would be a great way to help raise funds for their up and coming trip to the island of Guam,” Manglona said.
“We are going to sell the tickets for $5 each. We will be airing it in the American Memorial Museum Theater Room for four different nights. We previously scheduled to air it on May as part of the Older Americans Month but time is of the essence and we need to get moving if we want to make this trip to Guam in June,” he added.
The new screening dates are March 20, 21, 27 and 28.
The DVD production contains a variety of segments which include dances, both traditional and contemporary, funny commercials, skits, an inside look on what the elders do here at the Aging Center and introducing their first ever original short film titled “The Enchantress,” featuring the Manamko’ Drama Club.
