Arts exhibit at Joeten-Kiyu library

Art events coordinator Parker Yobei said the Arts Council opened the exhibit on Sept. 1.

“We have displayed works of at least 13 local artists. More artists have confirmed participation but some of them are still off-island,” Yobei said.

The exhibit is also open to art collectors who can either sell or display artwork for public viewing.

The exhibit will run until Oct. 1.

“We have always wanted to move the exhibit to a venue which is more accessible to the public and we thank Joeten-Kiyu library’s executive director John Gonzales for working with us in this exhibit,” Yobei said.

They are also waiting for other local artists and art collectors to register and showcase their artwork.

The Arts Council hosted the Women’s Art Exhibit last April and will open the Christmas Art Exhibit in December.

Yobei said the Arts Council does not get anything from the sales in these exhibits as all proceeds go back to the artists.

Showcased at the Cultural Heritage & Arts Pacifika Exhibit are photographs, paintings, locally made handicrafts and products as well as other works of art.
