“A lot of us didn’t know about the change, so we were told by friends to go to the office before 8 a.m. in order to conduct our business before work, but we found out that we have to wait longer to renew our licenses and registrations,” she said.
She noted that those who don’t work for the government “don’t operate on government austerity measures.”
“This is an example of our government’s inefficiencies. It causes confusion and loss of time especially for working people,” she added.
Leon Guerrero said the public should have been informed about the change, which took effect last year.
“We posted our office hours outside our office, so the community should be aware of that,” she said.
Variety learned that BMV’s building shutters blocked residents from seeing the notice regarding office hours yesterday morning.
BMV’s current office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on regular weekdays, excluding austerity Fridays.
