The airline has agreed to let the students look at its passenger aircraft. With close supervision, the students will be able to connect what they have learned in class to an actual operating aircraft environment.
In their last visit to the Freedom Air hangar, the students were introduced to an aircraft that was undergoing maintenance.
“My class is currently learning about aviation physics,” said Raulerson. “The students should be able to recognize the compression loads and the tension loads as the aircraft is parked on the tarmac.”
The aviation instructor also said that the Andersen Air Force Base on Guam is providing the class with a lot of support.
“Patricia Gay is the public affairs officer at Andersen AFB and she is helping us with an assortment of materials,” Raulerson told Variety.
The class will arrive at the airport at around 8:30 am on Feb. 26. Dennis Cruz, manager of Freedom Air, has given the class permission to observe the company’s aircraft.
