U.S. District Court for the CNMI Designated Presiding Judge David A. Wiseman released Babauta, 38, to the custody of his father, House Minority Leader Oscar M. Babauta.
The defendant posted $5,000 in unsecured bonds and a $5,000 appearance bond, while his father signed surety.
The defendant appeared with his court-appointed counsel, David Banes.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirk Schuler is the prosecutor.
Wiseman set the filing of pretrial motions for Oct. 12, while the jury trial will start on Nov. 30.
Jesse M. Babauta has been charged with one count of mail fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud, two counts of fraud and misuse of immigration documents, and conspiracy to commit offenses.
