Kate, daughter of Janet H. King and Joshua A. Manglona, turned nine months on Saturday. On the same day, King received a call from Lollipops that Kate’s raffle entry was picked out as the winner.
“We never thought we would win, and we are very happy,” King said. She said they got the winning raffle stub after buying Sanrio building blocks and other gift items.
As Kate is too young to use the bicycle, King said they will give it to a girl on Tinian.
“We have already contacted the Tinian Health Center to find a suitable recipient for the bicycle from among the patients, especially one who has a critical medical condition,” King said.
Manglona said they agreed to donate the bike to make some little girl’s Christmas a very memorable one.
He said they will bring the bike to the Tinian Health Center today.
Lollipops owner/general manager Penny Hofschneider said the promo started on Nov. 1 and ended on Dec. 17.
She said for every purchase worth $10 — clothes, toys and all other items — a Lollipops or Girl Talk customer is entitled to one raffle coupon.
Lollipops has been holding various raffle promotions in the past, but this was the first time that Sanrio in San Francisco shipped a bicycle for the grand prize.
