Ballet Academy top draw for Flame Tree Arts Festival

This is the eighth year Glushko’s ballet students will be showcased during performances at the Kilili Beach Park on Beach Road.

Every year, Anna Glushko, founder and head mistress of CNMI’s only classical ballet school, donates her time to showcase the talents of her students.

She and her students have worked hard to prepare for this year’s beautiful “Presentation of Ballet.”

This year over 40 local students will perform excerpts from two of the world’s most famous ballets, “Swan Lake” and “Sleeping Beauty.”

In December, Glushko said she will do a full stage presentation of the “Sleeping Beauty” ballet that will feature international ballet professionals at the Palms Resort Saipan.

Glushko’s Academy is currently negotiating a cultural exchange program with ballet schools of Guam and Hawaii.

Glushko visited dance schools on Guam and Hawaii and invited the students to perform on Saipan.

Youth of all ages and even adults who are interested to participate in the December performances are invited to enroll at Glushko’s Ballet Academy.

“We have space for anyone who loves ballet or wants extraordinary physical beauty for their bodies and develop the stamina and discipline in their lives that ballet teaches,” Glushko said.
