Borja is Democratic candidate for delegate

“We are proud to announce that Jesse Borja is our official candidate,” said  Party Chairman Jesse J. Torres. “We selected him based on his education and experience, and because of his deep-seated belief in the ideals of the Democratic Party.”

The NMI Democrats are inviting the public to a reunion and general meeting at Minachom Atdao at Susupe on April 30 at 6:30 p.m.

Borja will be speaking at the event and the NMI Democrats will be registering new party members.

“Jesse is the kind of candidate that the New Democratic Party is looking for,” said the party’s press secretary Angelo O’Connor Villagomez.  “I look forward to the community getting the opportunity to better know him.”

Borja received his juris doctorate from Georgetown University and has been a member of the CNMI Bar Association since 1974.

He served as an associate justice of the CNMI Supreme Court from 1989 to 1993 and was lt. governor from 1994 to 1998.

Borja is a former  member of the Northern Mariana Islands Commission on Federal Laws and is currently in private practice on Saipan.
