As of 3 p.m. yesterday, Reyes said over 30 individuals had registered.
He said they are expecting more participants to join the summer camp.
Today, will be the start of the weeklong event that will end on July 2.
“I am grateful that we were able to get $5,000 in financial support from the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation for the event,” he said.
Marianas Resort & Spa is hosting this year’s summer camp.
Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. and this includes submission of unit documents, including waiver forms, physical forms, unit rosters and tour permits and camp fee, which is $2 for each Cub Scout $4 for each Boy Scout.
Reyes said camp commissioners will be on hand to greet the participants and provide a mandatory orientation at the campsite.
The Cub Scouts, he added, will not report until June 28, but the Cub Masters and Den Leaders will be present to provide all the required documents.
Reyes said the event is an opportunity for the scouts to work on advancement programs, try new things and gain leadership skills.
“The buddy system and the patrol method will be emphasized in camp. These measures are more than just a safety precaution; these are the ways boys can learn together with one or two friends,” he added.
He said the unique feature of the open field around the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool, the program and activities to be offered, combined with quality adult-male association will benefit the scouts.
