Boy Scouts get $1,000 from IP&E

Jeff Boyer, IP&E area manager for the CNMI, said their corporation has been supportive of “organizations that truly need  funding” to pursue their programs.

Boyer,  former Boy Scout volunteer, said this was IP&E’s first time to donate but he hopes it will become an annual assistance to the Boy Scouts.

Boy Scouts of America island director Calistro Reyes and district commissioner Wayne Gillespie received the donation.

Reyes said the fund will help revitalize their adult program.

“I expressed my great appreciation to IP&E for their support,” he said.

With support from the private sector, he said there’s no reason they cannot achieve their goals.

He said they will use the funds for the type B uniforms of scouts who will join the Liberation Day parade on July 4.
