Through the assistance of an interpreter, the Variety talked with the source of the flyer regarding the missing man that was posted in Chinatown on Sunday.
Department of Public Safety spokesman PO2 Eric David told the Variety that the Criminal Investigation Bureau also verified the source of the flyer which was written in English and Chinese.
“Our investigators are still working on the case,” David said in a telephone interview yesterday.
Variety learned that one the phone numbers indicated in the flyer belongs to Qi Run Li’s sister.
The reward is $20,000 only and not “more,” Variety was told.
“The reward will be awarded to anyone who [can] bring the missing man back alive. No questions will be asked for anyone that bought him back,” according to an e-mail sent to this reporter yesterday.
“As of now, no one knows why [Qi Run Li has] gone missing…and [we] don’t care for the motive behind his disappearance. The missing man’s family just wanted him back, and willing to reward anyone whom can bring him back,” the e-mail further stated.
A manager of King’s Disco on Beach Road Garapan, Li was last seen driving his silver 2004 Toyota Corolla with license plate number ADJ 932 in Chinatown where he was supposed to pick up a customer on Monday night last week.
On the following day, investigators recovered his vehicle in the parking lot outside the former Shirley’s Restaurant on Middle Road.
