Brothers’ change of plea hearing rescheduled

Sos Ludwig and Sipson Ludwig’s hearing was originally set for Tuesday, June 3.

According to the plea agreement, the Ludwigs will enter a guilty plea to one count of riot and will get a sentence of six months.

The sentence will be suspended and the defendants will be placed to supervised probation for a period of six months.

They will pay a fine of $100 and a court assessment fee of $25 and will perform 40 hours of community work service.

Ludwigs co-defendant Onochew Iata already signed a plea agreement on April 15 and entered a guilty plea to the riot charge.

Iata was represented by attorney Joshua Berger while Assistant Attorney General Jeffery Warfield appeared on behalf of the government.

Iata received a probation sentence after his six months jail term was all suspended.

He was ordered to pay a $100 fine and $25 assessment fee.

He will perform 40 hours of community work service and to attend counseling at the Community Guidance Center.

He was ordered to stay away from the victims, Patrick and Michael Torres.

Iata’s review hearing was set for Sept. 16.

Sos Ludwig is on bail release while Sipson is still in the custody of the Department of Corrections.

The Ludwigs and Iata were  charged for engaging in a riot on Jan. 10, 2008, placing the victims and others in fear or in danger by use of force, violence, loud noise, shouting or threats.

Sipson was separately charged with assault with a dangerous weapon for assaulting Patrick Torres with a knife on Jan. 10.

Sipson Ludwig is represented by attorney Danilo Aguilar while Sos Ludwig’s lawyer is Edward Arriola.
