Calvary Christian Academy places third in Asia Pacific tournament

The invitation to the Saipan private school came late giving the Calvary team only ten days to prepare, but this did not stop their determination and strong spirit.

While Calvary did not do well in Friday’s first round, they rebounded on Saturday.

In the semifinal round Calvary beat out all schools garnering the highest score of the day.

This coupled with Friday’s scores netted them a third place trophy.

Coached by Scott and Marilee Norman, the Calvary team did much better than anyone could have hoped.

Kelly Butcher, legal counsel for the Public School System, also spent time working with the students, and the end results were beyond words.

“I am proud of this team!”  Norman said.   “They far exceeded our expectations and did not allow the first round to dampen their spirits. They held their own and showed the determination that winners are made of.”

Schools from Korea and Guam along with Calvary Christian Academy participated.

The first place trophy went to JFK High School.

Members of the Calvary Mock Trial Team included Jeremiah Perez, Zelena Palijo, Hiromasa Kawahara, Rachel Masga, Reina Perez, and Francis Fidelino.

Congratulations to Calvary Christian Academy!
