Camacho gets 1 year for interfering with domestic violence report

Milton Borja Camacho, 30, has been detained since his arrest on Jan. 25, 2011.

Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja  sentenced Camacho to one year imprisonment for this case, and another year for admitting violation of his probationary terms and conditions of his three previous criminal convictions.

But both sentences will run concurrently.

Naraja also credited 153 days already served by Camacho at the Department of Corrections facility from Jan. 25 to June 28, 2011. Camacho is expected to be released from prison on Jan. 24, 2012 and will be placed on six months supervised probation.

He will pay his victim $100 as restitution, a $100 fine, a $25 assessment fee, and a $60 probation fee.

He will not have any contact with his victim.

Camacho will complete 100 hours of community work service, attend and complete anger management counseling, and may avail of “educational release, if any” to attend college.

As part of the plea agreement, the other charges were dismissed by the court.

Assistant Attorney General Shelli Neal prosecuted the case, while attorney Vincent Seman was Camacho’s court-appointed defense counsel.

Police said Camacho got mad and assaulted his partner while she was about to leave their house in Chalan Kanoa.

Camacho also grabbed the victim’s cellular phone when she tried to call the Department of Public Safety, police said.

An off-duty police officer, Edwin Aguon, saw Camacho dragging the victim back to their apartment from her vehicle.

In 2009, the court credited eight months already served by Camacho for theft by deception, and placed him on five years’ probation.
