THE Talaya Club and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation are teaming up to conduct a “Cast and Cook” clinic at Micro Beach at American Memorial Park on Dec. 2.

According to Talaya Club Program Director David Cabrera, the partnership aims to incorporate a cultural element into CHCC’s Let’s Move Marianas campaign.

Cabrera said participants will learn cast-net fundamentals, species targeting, and sustainable fishing techniques.

He said if participants catch fish, organizers will show them how to turn their catch into a healthy dish.

Cabrera said there will be two sessions: from 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., and from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Each session will host 15 participants only. They must be between the ages of 10 and 14.

To register, go to https://tinyurl.com/3rffa2uf for the morning session or https://tinyurl.com/sm7vz9nt for the afternoon session.

To promote sustainability, Cabrera is requesting that participants bring their own reusable water containers. Talaya Club will provide water for them.
