CDA: Over $400K in properties to be auctioned on Sept. 2

Camacho said over $400,000 in foreclosed properties on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota will be on the auction block.

The Talofofo property appraised for $281,000 has been divided into seven lots of 5,000 square meters, he said.

In an earlier interview Camacho said the 35,000-square-meter property had to be divided into smaller lots so people could afford them.

Aside from the Talofofo property, two properties on Tinian and two lots on Rota are also to be auctioned off.

The two Tinian properties were appraised for $60,000 and $75,000 while the lots on Rota will cost no higher than $2,000.

Camacho said they will be putting out notices soon.

CDA Executive Director Manuel Sablan, for his part, confirmed that an agreement had been reached between CDA and the buyer of Sunset Villa.

Sablan said the buyer made a $230,000 payment two weeks ago and requested a payment plan for the $20,000 difference.

Variety earlier reported that CDA had sold the Sunset Villa to Fidel Mendiola Jr. for $250,000 and a $10,000 non-refundable deposit was received.
