CDA to hold hearing for call center’s QC revocation

A QC recipient is entitled to tax breaks.

CDA Chairman Pedro Itibus said  a hearing officer will handle the review of We Manage Call’s QC before a final recommendation is submitted to the governor.

Itibus said the revocation of a company’s QC requires a hearing.

“The case will be presented before the hearing officer…and whatever findings he make will be presented to the board,” he said.

CDA, he added, will then tell the governor if We Manage Calls’ QC should be revoked.

“The final decision lies in the governor’s hands,” he said.

The hearing has been tentatively set for Thursday, Oct. 23.

We Manage Calls was granted tax breaks on Feb. 23, 2006.

The $2 million call center business was a partnership between Van Der Maas and Los Angeles-based Smit Suyzentkunst.

The supposed location of the call center was the Marianas Business Plaza, the former Nauru Building in Susupe.

The company earlier said that the minimum wage hike and next year’s federalization of local immigration had affected its business plans.
