CDC announces temporary halt in residential evictions to prevent Covid-19 spread

CDC said the order is effective through Dec. 31, 2020.

Asked for comment, Press Secretary Kevin Bautista said on Thursday:

“Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, his administration, and his task force have already publicly supported President Trump’s efforts to help vulnerable populations stay in their homes in the midst of the pandemic. We understand the nature of our unprecedented economic situation, and the President and his administration are working proactively to help those affected across the country, while Congress continues to fail in their efforts to extend an eviction moratorium and provide relief for everyone who calls this country home. Halting residential evictions help prevent the further spread of Covid-19, while keeping families safe. We continue to follow additional guidance from HUD and our federal partners on how best to implement this policy by the President.”
