Census job fair dates on Rota and Tinian

Dates, times and locations to complete an application and be tested are as follows:

Rota NMC campus

• Monday, Dec. 14 — 2-7 p.m.

• Tuesday, Dec. 15 — 9 a.m.- 12 noon

Tinian NMC campus

• Monday, Dec. 21 — 2-7 p.m.

• Tuesday, Dec. 22 — 9 a.m.-12 noon

Testing will take 30-45 minutes and will be offered approximately every hour for applicants with a completed application. 

Bring a picture ID in order to complete the testing on the day of the job fair.

A police clearance is not needed to apply and will be completed prior to employment if selected, along with a mandatory drug screening.

Both the police clearance and the drug screening costs will be reimbursed after hire. 

Other U.S. Census employment requirements are as follows:

• Must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate or have a GED. Some people, however, may be hired at age 16 if they meet conditions of employment set by local laws and are high school graduates.

• Be a U.S. citizen (However, if not a U.S. citizen, an applicant may be considered if qualified workers are still needed as translators or enumerators with special language skills)

• Have a Social Security number before being appointed.

• Must submit to the FBI fingerprint screening.

• Pass a written test of basic skills

• Have a valid driver’s license (for most field jobs)

Applications can be picked up at the Office of Personnel Management office on Tinian and Rota and completed in advance of the job fair.

Bring the completed application to the job fair, including a photocopy of a picture ID and high school diploma.

If an application was submitted in advance of the job fair, Census staff will have a list of all applications submitted and will allow applicants to complete testing during the job fair on Rota and Tinian. 

Copies of an applicant’s ID and high school diploma can also be added at the job fair.

Positions include enumerators or the people who actually go into the villages to collect the forms and follow-up, to supervisors who help manage the process.

Other positions include field operations supervisors, crew leaders and crew leader assistants.

Full time and part time positions are available and number of hours worked is dependent on the individual’s job duties.

Some positions begin in early February but the majority will begin in mid-March.
