Associate Judge David Wiseman yesterday granted the prosecution’s motion to maintain the $30,000 bail each imposed on Ignacio T. Deleon Guerrero, 56, a.k.a. Kaboyu, and George T. Manglona, 28.
Both appeared without an attorney.
Deleon Guerrero and Manglona were being held on the charge of trafficking of a controlled substance and illegal possession of a controlled substance.
The juvenile was also charged with possession of a controlled substance — marijuana.
Assistant Attorney General William Downer is prosecuting the case.
Manglona had another arrest order for failure to attend his hearing for assault and battery and disturbing the peace, Downer told the court.
The court found the defendants to be indigent and will appoint attorneys for their preliminary hearing on March 18. Their arraignment has been set for March 29, 2010.
Department of Public Safety acting spokesman PO2 Jason Tarkong said the defendants were arrested by the Drug Enforcement Task Force with the assistance of the Department of Public Safety’s Tactical Response Enforcement Team and the Criminal Investigative Bureau.
After their arrests, both adult male suspects were transported to the Department of Corrections facility for detention while the juvenile was brought to the juvenile detention facility in Kagman.
In his affidavit, Drug Enforcement Task Force Detective Sean White said Detectives Norman Rasiang and Kevin Maratita were told by a cooperating source that Deleon Guerrero and Manglona were both active in selling “ice” at a house in Chalan Kanoa, where the two defendants were living.
A tin house in the same property was being used by the defendants for the users to smoke “ice” after buying from them, Detective White said.
Deleon Guerrero and Manglona were receiving stolen properties and firearms in exchange for “ice,” White added.
“Manglona [was seen] with a .9mm pistol that [the defendant] brandished and intimidated the customers buying ‘ice’ from him,” White said.
Presiding Judge Robert Naraja issued the eavesdropping warrant and arrest orders against Deleon Guerrero and Manglona.
During the raid at Deleon Guerrero’s residence, the 17-year-old local male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, Tarkong said.
A search and arrest warrant was also served on Manglona at his mother’s residence in San Vicente.
The search at Deleon Guerrero’s residence yielded “ice” and marijuana, drug paraphernalia, large and small weight scales and numerous Ziploc bags, Tarkong said.
Te search of Manglona’s car yielded drug paraphernalia, ammunition and other contraband, Tarkong added.
