The Attorney General’s Office charged Meipen for assault and battery of a household member on March 24, 2010, and for theft and disturbing the peace of the same victim on April 22, 2011.
The prosecution said Meipen took the victim’s car battery.
But upon further investigation, the AGO said “the commonwealth does not believe it should continue the prosecution” of these cases.
The victim in these cases told the AGO “not to prosecute and indicat[ed] that the information in the police reports in both cases is not entirely accurate.”
Dismissal without prejudice means the prosecution can re-file the case against the defendant.
