CHC says it’s not giving out hospital supplies, equipment for free

But he said the Commonwealth Health Center lent the hospital’s supplies to the St. Jude Hemo-Dialysis Clinic on case to case basis.

Variety was told that CHC hemo-dialysis equipment and supplies were being given out to private medical clinic who’s owners may have close ties with the hospital’s officials.

“This has been the practice for so long,” Villagomez told Variety, adding the CHC and St. Jude Clinic and other medical clinics have an agreement even in the past.

There were many instances, he said, when CHC borrows supplies, especially blood, from Guam Memorial Hospital.

“They borrow from us sometimes and when they have enough supplies they also replenish what they borrow,” he added.

But before CHC will lend supplies and equipment to a private hemo-dialysis clinic, the hospital will have to ensure that its own supplies are enough to sustain its needs in the next six months, Villagomez said.

“We are concerned for well-being of all patients, so if they say that they need supplies, we share ours with them,” he said.

Private medical clinics, he added, have to pay for the supplies they borrowed but failed to return to CHC.
