CHCC, task force administer Covid-19 tests on Rota, Tinian

The specimens that will be collected will be transported to the CHCC laboratory for testing, CHCC Chief Executive Officer Esther Muna said.

The three-day testing initiative on Rota and Tinian started on Monday.

If there are confirmed positive cases or any persons under investigation on Tinian and Rota, they will be transported to Kanoa Resort, one of the identified alternate care sites for Covid-19 on Saipan, task force chairman Warren Villagomez said.

Warren Villagomez “We are coordinating with Star Marianas to be able to transport individuals safely to Kanoa Resort for better assessment and treatment,” he added.

On Saipan, Muna said, CHCC and the task force have started reaching out to community members.

Last week, she added, inmates at the Department of Corrections were tested. There is also a plan to test assisted living community members, Muna said.

“We are going to those who are most vulnerable. We went to the dialysis unit as well, and we will continue to do all these tests.

“When we talk about reaching out to the communities, we are talking about the different populations, and that will require us to go directly to them.”
