China offers scholarships for FSM students

The scholarship scheme is extended to the FSM to promote cooperation and exchange in the fields of education and culture between China and the federation.

The scholarship fund covers the cost of tuition, dormitory and monthly allowance for meals and other basic necessities.  International airfare for the students will be borne by themselves.

A new addition to the scholarship program is the authorization by the Chinese government for 28 universities in China to offer undergraduate programs in clinical medicine and stomatology to be taught in English.

Previously all majors were taught only in Chinese.

Details on the English program are provided at the Web site http://www.moe.edu.cn/edoas/website18/en/index_070810.htm.

The FSM Embassy encourages all FSM students to take advantage of the scholarship opportunity and contact the Department of Foreign Affairs at 691-320-2613 or the Chinese Embassy in Palikir at 691-320-5575 for additional information.

Application forms and medical examination forms can be downloaded directly from the following Web sites:  http://en.csc.edu.cn/uploads/APPLICATION%20 FORM%20FOR% 20CHINESE%20GOVERNMENT %20SCHOLARSHIP.pdf
