Church celebrates feast of Christ the King

“This year it is very special because we know that in the church we will also celebrate the Year for Priests so we have a theme for our fiesta which is ‘Kristo Rai, the Eternal High Priest,’ in conjunction with the celebration of the Eucharist,” said Fr. Celso G. Magbanua, Jr., Kristo Rai parish administrator

There were novena Masses since Nov. 14 before the main celebration and there was a  different theme everyday.

“We invited different priests to celebrate the novena Masses,” Magbanua said.

The parish honored the invited priests with dinner at 6 p.m. after the Mass.

The fiesta celebration began with a novena at 3:30 p.m. and the Mass was held at 4 p.m. with Chalan Kanoa Bishop Thomas Camacho as the main celebrant and the homilist.

A procession and dinner followed.

“People every year bring food and members of the community join the parish fiesta for dinner,” Magbanua said.

For Thanksgiving on Nov. 26, Masses at Kristo Rai Church will start at 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. in the morning.
