Chuukese community leaders meet with students

Brel didn’t say what these activities are but added that these “might damage their education.”

Yesterday, Chuuk youth leaders met with the students to remind them about the importance of education.

Gideon S. Kikku of the Chuukese Catholic Youth spoke about their need to become a good model in the community and in school.

About 50 students gathered to listen to different speakers who spoke about the “Empowering Youth” at the Linala Malawasch Academy on the Hopwood Junior High School campus.

Brel said the youth leaders “gave words of wisdom” to the students.

Chuukese community leader Kasiano John and Chuukese Youth Association president Larry Sharry encouraged the students to strive hard in their studies so they could have a good future.

Sandy Ambrose of the Department of Public Safety, another youth leader, said “without education you got nothing.”

Ambrose said each student goes to school to attain a good education and get a good job.
