NORTHERN Marianas Technical Institute Chief Executive Officer Jodina Attao said the trade school will resume classes and business operations on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
Torrential rain over the weekend led to the flooding of the NMTech campus and its subsequent temporary closure.
In response, Attao called in NMTech staff to clean the campus in Lower Base.
“After days of hard work and collaboration, we are proud to reopen our doors,” Attao said in a media statement. “The safety and well-being of our students and staff were our top priorities during the recovery process. We are grateful for the dedication of our maintenance teams, neighboring businesses, industry partners and community volunteers who contributed to the swift restoration of our campus.”
She said classrooms, laboratories, and common areas have been cleaned, sanitized, and “inspected to ensure they meet safety standards.”
Additionally, electrical systems are restored, and technical equipment has undergone safety checks, she added.
Attao said students should check their email for updates and schedule adjustments. Classes will resume at their regular times on Nov. 6, she reiterated.
She said all NMTech programs will continue as planned “with adjustments made to ensure students stay on track to meet their training and certification goals.”
