But she advised parents and guardians to take precautionary measures as they take their children to school.

This is due to post-typhoon winds and rain that may still be in the vicinity of Saipan and Tinian, she added.

Classes at Rota’s public school were not canceled.

As of Tuesday night on Saipan, the Emergency Management Office reported that 223 individuals took refuge at the island’s designated shelters.

At Tanapag Elementary School, shelter manager Lou Lieto said they had 29 individuals from four families  on Monday.

As of 12 noon yesterday, some of them transferred to Ada Gym, she said.

The school allowed them to leave the shelter after getting an advisory from the Emergency Management Office.

The classrooms were then cleaned up in preparation for the resumption of classes today.

On Monday, PSS designated the elementary schools in Tanapag, Garapan, Dandan, Koblerville,  Marianas High School, Chacha Oceanview Junior High School and Kagman High School as typhoon shelters.
