CNMI DOL reminds employers of quarterly census of employment deadline

(CNMI DOL) — The CNMI Department of Labor reminds all employers of their obligation to submit their census of employment reports as mandated by the Commonwealth Employment Act of 2007, as amended.

This vital data collection effort supports the effective administration of employment initiatives benefiting CNMI citizens, permanent residents, and U.S. permanent residents in the Commonwealth.

Reporting requirements

NMIAC 80 – 20.1 – 505 Census of Employment

All employers in the CNMI are required to submit quarterly reports detailing the number and classification of employees as of the last day of each quarter.

The CNMI Department of Labor asks that all employers (public and private sector) submit their 3rd quarter census of employment report by uploading it through the official website: www.labor.cnmi.gov by Oct. 31, 2024.

“Accurate and timely employment data is crucial for our efforts to promote full employment in the Commonwealth,” stated the department. “We urge all employers to comply with these reporting requirements to support our mission of fair and effective workforce development.”

Report deadlines follow the calendar year quarter:

1st Quarter: April 30

2nd Quarter: July 31

3rd Quarter: Oct. 31

4th Quarter: Jan. 31 of the following year

All reports must be submitted online using the official and current form provided by the department and completed according to the form’s instructions found here: https://labor.cnmi.gov/workforce-listing/

Both the form and instructions can be found on the department’s website located on the Resources tab, under Forms and Publications.

Failure to comply may result in a notice of violation, fines, or other sanctions.
