Coleman was invited to the VA leadership meeting in Hawaii next month.
Coleman, in an interview yesterday, said the meeting will discuss the partnership between federal and state VA offices.
Coleman will leave on Dec. 14 for Honolulu, Hawaii.
The four-day meeting, she said, will also discuss the creation of a leadership committee for non-federal VA personnel and a leadership task force for the department, the Pentagon and VA state agencies.
The discussion on the leadership task force, Coleman said, will be her chance to bring up the issues of the local VA including the need for an outreach clinic on Saipan.
There will also be a discussions on the possible improvements in the processing of other VA federal benefits like disability claims, compensation, education and home loan.
Coleman said she was invited by VA Regional Office Director Retired General James Hastings who visited Saipan recently and checked the possibility of opening a clinic at the Commonwealth Health Center.
The CNMI is the home of 1,400 veterans.
