During yesterday’s proclamation signing for Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, Inos told Public Health Director Roxanne Diaz and other program managers that there had already been three proclamation signings concerning health issues without the presence of CHC’s top officials.
Inos said he is beginning to doubt their commitment to the healthcare system, which provides the most important public service in the commonwealth.
Diaz explained that she represented Babauta in the proclamation signing. She said the former governor and other CHC officials were busy working on financial issues and other pressing matters.
They are working very hard, she added.
Inos noted, however, that he and the governor have more tasks and bigger responsibilities, but they still find the time to join important public events and show support to public servants, especially those who run health programs.
“I don’t do their schedules down there but the explanation that they are working on the budget and payroll are equally applied to us,” he added.
“This is the third proclamation signing concerning healthcare, and like I said they are conspicuously absent.”
