Quitugua, 31, is serving his term at the Federal Correctional Facility in Sheridan, Oregon after being sentenced to 120 months imprisonment for the attempted armed robbery of Capital Poker in Sadog Tasi on April 29, 2004.
Quitugua is expected to be released on Jan. 14, 2013.
Quitugua’s co-defendant, John Gerald Castro Pangelinan, 33, also known as Bolis, is serving 289 months at the Allenwood Federal Correctional Complex in Allenwood, Pennsylvania.
Pangelinan, a violent career offender, is expected to be released on Oct. 18, 2025.
In his judgment, then-Chief Judge Alex Munson of the U.S. District Court for the NMI ordered Quitugua and Pangelinan to pay Myung Kim $18,542.54.
Yesterday, designated Judge David A. Wiseman directed the U.S. government and the Federal Probation Office to respond to Quitugua’s motion in writing on Sept. 3, 2010.
In his letter, Quitugua told the federal court that granting his requested deferment of restitution payments, would “empower [him] to save funds in preparation from his release from custody.”
From 2005 to 2007, Quitugua said he contributed $25 every three months.
This was later increased to $50 every three months and then to $50 a month, Quitugua said.
He added that he has “remained disciplinary action-free throughout his entire term of incarceration.”
