BOATING Safety officers rescued a man who was stranded on a distressed 13-foot boat southwest of Tinian’s Dumcoke Reef on Friday night.
David Babauta was in good condition when the rescue team spotted him, according to the Department of Public Safety yesterday.
Last June 12, Boating Safety officers also rescued Babauta who was stranded on his distressed vessel west of Tinian.
DPS spokesman Pete C. Muna said Babauta was cited for violation of law that requires boaters to have ship to shore radio transceiver.
Muna said boating safety officers found that Babauta’s other safety equipment was functioning.
