The court approved the $800 fee for the investigator.
Diaz has denied charges of three counts of enticement of a minor and one count of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.
According to the indictment, between on or about Aug. 1, 2010 and Sept. 30, 2010, Diaz planed in from Guam to entice the victim “to engage in sexual activity” which is sexual abuse of a minor in the third degree under CNMI law.
Diaz is currently detained at the CNMI Department of Corrections.
He is represented by attorney David Banes, while Assistant U.S. Attorney James J. Benedetto is prosecuting the case.
