Joseph N. Borja will remain in the custody of the Department of Corrections until he posts the $20,000 property bond bail.
In a separate case, Associate Judge Ramona V. Manglona agreed to drop the assault charge against David C. Arriola due to lack of sufficient evidence.
But Arriola will still face charges of assault and battery and disturbing the peace in connection with a violent incident reported to the police.
The judge set his arraignment for April 4 at 9 a.m.
Arriola’s bail remains at $2,000.
He will be temporarily released from the custody of the Department of Corrections if he posts at least 15 percent of his bail.
