CPA was designated as the transportation committee for the summit which will be held from June 23 to 25.
CPA will host a dinner for the chief executives of Palau, Guam, the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, and its states: Chuuk, Kosrae. Pohnpei and Yap.
CPA Executive Director Edward M. Deleon Guerrero said they are expecting between 80 and 100 visiting dignitaries.
During the board’s special meeting last week, the amount of $176,000 and $189,000 were approved as supplemental budget, in addition to the $20,000 budget for the summit dinner.
The $176,000 will cover CPA’s obligation with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service to comply with the federal agency’s reporting requirements from 2007 to 2009.
The $189,000 will pay CPA’s contractor Vander Lande Industries which was contracted to fix the airport’s baggage handling system.
