CPA approves over $150K supplemental budget

The supplemental budget is for the Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Training Center, $136,750; and the $18,000 manpower cost for the repainting of the Rota airport’s terminal building.

The board approved the supplemental budget during its Friday’s special meeting.

CPA acting comptroller Derek T. Sasamoto said the money will come from the passenger facility charges and will be reimbursed by the Federal Aviation Administration.

The board also reopened the bidding for its trash collection after a lone bidder submitted a $1,202 monthly charge, or an increase of 208 percent from the existing $675 existing monthly charge. The original contract has expired and now runs on a month-to-month basis.
