CPA board hires former Rev & Tax chief as executive director

THE Commonwealth Ports Authority board of directors has hired former Revenue and Taxation Director Estrellita “Esther” S. Ada as the new executive director, CPA Board Chairman Ramon A. Tebuteb announced on Wednesday.

In a memorandum to department heads and CPA stakeholders, Tebuteb, on behalf of the board of directors, said, “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Ms. Estrellita S. Ada as our new executive director, effective April 14, 2025.”

He said Ada “brings a wealth of experience and a strong track record of success.”

He also thanked Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Chief Fredrick A. Pangelinan, who served as acting executive director, “for holding down the fort for the past five months.”

Ada, who currently works as Duty Free Shoppers’ human resource director, was among the three individuals who submitted applications for the CPA executive director’s post. The other two were former Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero and former Department of Public Lands Secretary Marianne Concepcion-Teregeyo.

Among the three, Ada has a relevant bachelor’s degree and an adequate amount of experience in a managerial job.

The CPA board had to hire a new executive director after former Executive Director Leo B. Tudela resigned in December last year.
