COMMONWEALTH Ports Authority Board Chair Ramon A. Tebuteb on Wednesday reiterated the importance of “delineating” the duties of the board and management.
During a special meeting, Tebuteb said anything that relates to or may require board consideration should be disseminated through the executive director and the board secretary.
Anything related to CPA management and administration should be coordinated through the chief administrative officer, he added.
Tebuteb also shared some of the discussions he had with Federal Aviation Administration officials regarding, among other things, airport improvement projects.
In addition, he said he had separate meetings with officials of the Marianas Visitors Authority, and representatives of Jeju Air and T’Way Air.
Reminder
During the miscellaneous part of the special board meeting, board member Antonio Cabrera reminded his colleagues that in September, he opposed increasing the airport rates.
He said he was certain that the board would reduce the rates once the airlines make a decision that will significantly affect airport revenue.
“I saw this action forthcoming,” Cabrera said, referring to the recent adoption of the resolution rescinding the rate hike and reimplementing the airport rates that were in place prior to Oct. 1, 2023.
In closing, Cabrera thanked the board of directors for approving the resolution, adding that the rate increase was an “unwarranted action on their part.”
