Crime Stoppers coordinator PO2 Jason Tarkong said on Sept. 22, he received a tip that a suspect, later identified as Muna, was attempting to sell stolen property at One Coin Dive Shop, located across Beach Road from the Department of Public Safety’s headquarters in Susupe.
Tarkong immediately informed patrol officers and the department’s Burglary Task Force about the tip.
In his affidavit, Detective Jesse J. Stole said Muna, 21, and Raymond Cabrera were arrested for selling stolen property.
On Sept. 21, Stole said Eun Teack Jung reported a burglary and theft incident at his dive shop in Garapan.
Investigation showed that the locks to the back door of the DPW dive shop were broken.
Muna on same day came to One Coin Dive Shop and tried to sell an underwater camera to the manager who told Muna that they didn’t need it, Stole said.
The manager later learned that DPI dive shop was burglarized, and recalled that Muna tried to sell an underwater camera.
On Sept. 22, Muna came back to One Coin Dive Shop, and tried, this time, to sell a dive computer, two scuba pro regulators and a back pack.
Jung said these items were stolen from his shop.
Detective Sabino Cabrera interviewed Raymond Cabrera who said that he and Muna met at his cousin’s house in Chalan Piao on the morning of Sept. 22.
Muna asked Raymond Cabrera for a ride to One Coin Dive Shop “to check on a friend.” Muna placed a black trash bag in the trunk of Cabrera’s car.
Muna was staying at the unoccupied apartment of Raymond Cabrera’s father for over a week.
Muna is a family member and “Raymond Cabrera was helping Muna out,” Detective Cabrera said.
Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo imposed a $10,000 cash bail on Muna who is being held on charges of burglary and theft.
Court documents did not indicate if charges had also been filed against Raymond Cabrera.
