In that incident, a man armed with a knife tied up a 56-year-old male cashier and robbed the establishment of between $2,500 and $2,700 in cash.
The police in an effort to obtain help identifying the suspect ran the surveillance footage on KSPN. As a result, several tips were called in to the Crime Stoppers tip line and the assailant was identified as George Jones Castro. After again reviewing the footage, and now believing that Castro was indeed the man in the surveillance footage, DPS officer’s approached Castro’s sister, who confirmed that it was her brother on the tape.
As a result of the Crime Stoppers tip, the 43-year-old Castro was apprehended and subsequently admitted to the crime. He was charged with robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, theft and disturbing the peace. His bail was set at $17,250.
