The power outage will start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m. This interruption is required for the safety of the linemen as they perform general maintenance on the electrical system.
This is part of an ongoing maintenance program that will involve the replacement of more defective pole hardware such as pole top pins, insulators, cross arms, insulators, guying, connectors, bolts and nuts on the second partial of the circuit.
In addition to performing maintenance much needed repairs will also be made to the circuit to prepare for the upcoming Cross Island Road Power Pole Relocation Project.
Two new airbrakes switches, or ABS, will be installed, one near the lower Dandan homestead area and the other near the Adventure store in San Vicente.
The purpose of the ABS is to allow the line crews the ability to isolate specific areas of the electrical grid to minimize inconvenience to the public and its customers when performing future repairs and maintenance to the system.
The entire circuit will be de-energized until installation of the ABS is completed in San Vicente. However, the power will remain off from the San Vicente Loop at the former Roundhouse location to the Dandan homestead and the Obyan area where the work will continue.
Again, because of the extreme danger in working on energized lines, a power outage is necessary to ensure the line crews safety.
