By the end of the year, according to CUC, the power generation on Power Plant 1 will also reach 51 megawatts.
CUC said it will have a total of 71 megawatts from Power Plants 1 and 2, including the 14 megawatts from the Power Plant 4 managed by the Pacific Marine Industrial Corporation.
CUC assistant executive director for operation Abe Utu Malae said the overhaul of engine 8 is ongoing, but they are expecting to finish it in June and get an additional 10 megawatts.
Before the year’s end, the overhaul of engine 6 will be completed and CUC will expect 10 megawatts from it.
Base on the rehabilitation timeline, the engine 1 crankshaft replacement, overhauling and repair of its foundation were completed in February, CUC said.
The crankshaft repair and overhaul of engine 2 were completed in September.
Engines 1 and 5 generate 5 megawatts each.
The repair of engine 3’s crankshaft; the top-end overhaul and main bearing change for engine 6; the major overhaul of engine 7; and the foundation repair of engine 8 were completed last year, CUC said.
